Life partners David Sampedro and Melanie Hickman are stalwart winegrowing “outsiders” in the most positive way. The former is a native of Elvillar in Rioja Alavesa where the two practice regenerative agriculture and minimal intervention winemaking, as well as managing a small zoo. (The last point is in jest, but there are upwards of a dozen animals on site!). These are some of the most impassioned people that we work with, and it shows in their highly characterful wines. Their myriad single-vineyard sites are bottled individually, each imbued with untamed and delicious personalities.
